Off on another sojourn…

July 29th, 2007

Yup, will be flying off on Wednesday, galavanting around for 5 weeks with stops in Singapore, Netherlands, London, Prague and Bangkok.  Should be fun!

Anyway, will post pics when we get back…. and if you dont know yet, my photo gallery isn’t working at the moment.  I guess it can wait untill Sept to get fixed!

What’s the dilly?

June 1st, 2007

So what’s been happening in my world?

Well plenty of things really… but I to be honest I can’t be arsed writing about it!  Life just gets too busy, which is of course, a lame’o excuse to be sure.

So… this site aint gonna be updated all too often from now on.  But the gallery will still get updated a bit more occasionally.

Talking of which, there’ll be some more pics soon.

Cheers!

Holy shit it’s been a while!

January 18th, 2007

I’ve been wondering why so many people have been telling me I’m slack for not updating this website for a while… and I suppose I have been a bit pre-occupied with other things, but I was slightly surprised to find that its actually been over 6 months since my last post… so ok, I might just this once admit I’m a slacker.

Given it’s the start of a new year, I might as well make an undertaking to update and post items on a “slightly” more regular basis.

First up, if you get the chance check out www.poythemovie.com - a digital feature film that I’m helping to produce. We’re in the middle of filming at the moment… plenty of fun and an amazing experience.

Secondly, I’ve uploaded pics from our trip over to Oz in Sept for a friends wedding. As always, some great times were had… luckily for me, no repeat of the pant-splitting antics from March last year.

Anyway, hope the xmas and New Year break has treated you well and 2007 holds plenty of promise for you. See ya soon!

Run of the mill?

June 18th, 2006

It’s pretty interesting what you may take for granted.

A friend was staying over my place recently with his chinese girlfriend who’d only come over from the homeland not too long ago. Over breakfast we were shooting the breeze and the girlfriend looks out the window and screams with delight… “look, a rainbow!”.

Yeah it was a rainbow, but really nothing out of the ordinary, you know the type you see amost any day of the week… but as it turns out, its only the third rainbow this girl has ever seen in her life because of the bad air pollution in her home town back in China.

Mmmm, interesting stuff.

Down to the Capital

May 19th, 2006

With a quick flying visit to the Capital on my way through to Christchurch, I thought it was high time I had a big night out with the Wellington crew.

First night out was at The Matterhorn bar, where we had dinner and drinks, followed by some more shots at The Good Luck Bar… um, cheers Paulus!

The Matterhorn

Then the next night we joined Chris Ben in warming his flat… and in true Ben style, the theme was PJ’s… I am Jack’s utter lack of surprise at that one. (ah yeah, an obscure movie quote there… a 6pack of NZ beer to the first to guess the movie). Photos at The Gallery.

Tasty treats!

May 19th, 2006

With Annemieke’s last night in the Tron and my parent’s wedding annivesary, we thought we’d have a 4 course seafood extravaganza…

1st Course - NZ Bluff oysters prepared 3 ways (natural, mornay & kilpatrick)

Bluff Oysters

2nd Course - Crayfish mornay in the half shell

Crayfish!

3rd Course - Calamari & scallops stirfried in ginger & soy sauce

4th Course - Prawns, calamari, scallops in tempura

Plus 3 bottles of wine between the 4 of us, a range of NZ cheese’s, coffee and cheesecake… all over a lazy 4 hour period.  To say we were full is an understatement!

Hope I haven’t made any of ya jealous!

A Spot of Fashion

April 29th, 2006

With the Ponsonby Fringe Festival winding down the last major event on the calendar was the Zambesi Fashion Show at SPQR… and with Sarah having a front row table booked, it was a chance to drink, eat and airkiss the night away.

Oh yeah, and some new fashions from Zambesi were on show… a few $900 shirts, frocks and the like.

I think I can afford a sleeve if i’m lucky.

Anyhoo… pics are here.

Drinkin up

Ponsonby Long Lunch

April 29th, 2006

Yeah, nursing a slight hangover from the night before (way too many saki’s!) we made our way over to the Ponsonby Firestation for the annual Long Lunch.

Good food, good wine (good on ya Nobilo’s) and good company… not a bad way to spend 5 hours on a lazy sunday afternoon.

Photos can be found here.

One night in Auckland

April 28th, 2006

With the welcome mat out for Annemieke for her month in NZ, a night out in Auckland Town was in order. First up, a slap up meal at Ken’s Yakitori Bar (Cam and mine’s haunt from back in our Anzac Ave flatting days) with several Sapporo’s and sake’s to help things chug along.

Then a wander down to the Viaduct with a few stops at various bars along the way. Good times had by the Mike & Sarah, Elisa & Remko, Cam, Vaughan and Chris.

Pics are at The Gallery, as per usual.

And the award for the worst tie of the night goes to this young lass:

Farewell to the Mole

April 28th, 2006

Young Michael has boarded the boat for the motherland with the aim of making his riches… at the rate they pay auditors/accountants in London these days, it should only take him about 9 weeks before he’s earnt a year’s wage in NZ. And while you’re over there, dont let Sarah lead you astray too much!

Good luck mate… we’ll no doubt meet up for a pint in your local sometime in the near future.

And click here for the pics from the Moley-Moley-Moley-Party from the start of the month.

It’s all go

April 26th, 2006

OK, so this website and The Gallery should all be working fine now… so if you’d like to view the photos in The Gallery, you’ll have to follow the instructions and register as a new user.

Cheers for your patience!

It’s all there

Wedding Ceremony

Right, photos from the R&R wedding are all up and ready for your viewing pleasure at The Gallery.

And one for the road…

* Petrol for the trip to Whanganui: $90

* 2 nights accomodation: $120

* Getting horribly drunk and then breaking out my funky indian dance styles, busting my knee and splitting and ruining my expensive suit pants in the process: Priceless!

Split!

While we’re congratulating

April 25th, 2006

And now I’ve heard that 2 friends from Prague are getting married… Mike from Canada and Shux from Singapore.

Congratulations guys!!!

Here are a couple of pics… one of Mixmaster Mike popping the big question and the other is of the new bling on Shux’s finger.
Will you...

Bling!

Twins!

April 23rd, 2006

I was lucky enough to be able to attend my friend Mariana’s wedding last year in Mexico City… and now her and Aldo have 2 new additions to the family… GianCarlo and André Paolo!

Congrats to the proud parents!
